Course Overview
Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) Management is a five day course with hands-on labs for IDPA administrators and users that is targeted (but not limited) to customers. The student will be able to administer and use all features of their IDPA upon completion of the course. The course will cover an overview of the IDPA model family and the administration and use of the IDPA ACM, IDPA System Manager, the Backup Server (Avamar), Protection Storage (Data Domain), Reports and Analytics (Data Protection Advisor), and Search.
Who should attend
This course is for system administrators and users who are responsible for the Dell EMC Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA). This course is targeted to customers, but is also appropriate for partners, solution architects, and support specialists.
Prerequisites
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student must have a suitable knowledgebase/skill set. The student must have an understanding of:
- Backup and recovery concepts and principles
- Network administration in a TCP/IP environment
- Unix/Linux system administration
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the IDPA solution, its components, and processes
- Use the IDPA interfaces and their connected functions and components
- Perform IDPA administrative tasks
- Run scheduled and on-demand backups
- Configure backups using the interfaces of the Backup Server
- Utilize the Search component to detect needed backups for restore
- Restore backups using Search and the Backup Server
- Create canned and customized reports
- Customize dashboards
- Use IDPA information to perform system monitoring, maintenance, capacity management, reporting, and troubleshooting
- Describe the IDPA daily maintenance activities
- Utilize Cloud Tier and Cloud DR
